Modelbouw hout schepen King of the Mississippi Bon Retour Chinese Jonk Nave Egizia Creole Queen Modeling wooden ships

Welcome to MODELBOUWENZO.NL

In English 'modelbouwenzo' means modeling and so, for the only reason all other domains were already in use.
Far far before the internet I build a lot of plastic kits out of the box with too much glue and paint. The models were varied, from tanks and cars to planes and helicopters. For many years they I exposed them in my room, but through the years and because of several movements they are all gone now. After a break of more than 20 years I started all over again, first reading several forums (see links).

Because of the various skills and builds I made some difference between woodmodeling ("houtsnuiven" = "sniffing wood") and modeling with plastic.

Wooden Ships

King of the Mississippi
My first kit was a model of the paddlesteamer
King of the Mississippi (scale 1:80 - Artesania Latina).
Length = 66 cm. Some pictures of the build of this beauty.

Bon Retour
My second ready build was a small French shell fishingboat, the Bon Retour . Some pictures of the build.

Chinese Jonk
A weathered Chinese Pirate Junk was finished in December 2010. THis was the first ship I have tried to scratch some parts.

Nave Egizia
In Januari 2011 I started the build of an ancient Egyptian ship, used for the tranpartation of ebony and cedar.

Plastic modeling
Quite different than wooden modeling, but both are interesting.

Ford GPA Jeep
An amphibian vehicle used in WWII, the
Ford GPA Jeep. And some pictures of the build of it.

More than 10 years ago I build a Harley Softail
Another finished build, a Shmira MUTT, an Israelian Defence vehicle (IDF).

I just started this site, I hope you will return soon to see improvements and new builds.
