The HMS KING GEORGE V performed her first « spécial campaign » in January 1941 carrying Lord Halifax to the USA where he was appointes Ambassador in Washington. On his arrival in the harbor of Annapolis he was greeted by the President of the Unites States.
The KING GEORGE V took part in the operations of Norway in March 1941: it was the beginning of the battleship’s operational carreer. On April 1st 1941 the Admiral Sir John Tovey’s commanding flag was transferred to the HMS KING GEORGE V.
